Seeing God!

Seeing God – My Daily Bread!

Yesterday we pondered over the words of Job which encouraged us to treasure our God by getting to know Him in His Word.  For there He is revealed in all His majestic splendor and majesty!   Today’s reflection is also taken from the words of Job found in Job 42: 5, NKJV which speaks to knowing God by experiencing Him in all our circumstances, it reads:

“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.”

These words of Job speak to him having a personal encounter with the Living God that left no room for doubt in Job’s mind about who God was.  In these few words Job acknowledged that he had heard a lot about God, but it was not until he had lived through   a very difficult time in his life that God became real and personal to him.  Job was able to see God through eyes of faith as he trusted in the Lord to deliver him.  During the midst of his trials he was able to confidently assert:  “For I know that my Redeemer lives.”  (Job 19: 25, NKJV)

Saints until God becomes real enough in our lives that we trust Him to lead guide and direct all aspects of our being and circumstances, all that we know about him will be just for the hearing with our ears.   However, what we hear alone can never be enough to penetrate our hearts or transform our lives day-to-day.  We must understand that we must live God daily in order to experience God daily!

Job’s encounter with God also led him to fathom the scope of God’s sovereignty over creation and the lives of His Saints for he concluded:  “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”  (Job 42:1, NKJV)  This too should be the same for us today; when our circumstances meet God’s blessings in action, we should come away knowing that everything is possible with God, that there are no limits to what He can do!

Seeing God is savoring God with our heart, it is treasuring Him above everything and in the midst of all things, it is having the faith to trust in Him implicitly before, during and after all else fails.  When this happens in the life of the Saint who believes, it is a time for rejoicing in the Lord, for you affirm that your Redeemer lives!
