Sing a Song of Praise!

Sing a Song of Praise  – My Daily Bread!

Today’s reflection is taken from the words of Jesus found in Mark 8:38, NIV, where He said:

“If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels”.

Here Jesus speaks of one of the true signs of our separateness from this world – our witness for Christ in our daily lives.  We cannot simply profess Christ within the Church assembly, our daily lives must be a living testimony that brings glory and honor to God!

Each breath we take, every beat of our heart should tell forth a psalms of praise to our creator!  The question is will your life sing a melody or a dirge before God?  What do your “psalms of praise’ say about you?   Does it speak of a heart surrendered to God or a heart that clings to the unimportant things of this world?    Do your priorities show a life centered on God and His principles, a mind renewed for Christ?   Is it evident to ‘the world’ that your source of strength is God; that you are saved unto Christ for many things in His Kingdom?   Have you shared how God has changed your life, that the desires of this world no longer motivate your heart?   Do your friends know of your special relationship with the Lord?

I am sure we can all sing more beautifully before the Lord.    Matthew said it like this: “You are the light of the world.  Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16, NIV).  Let us not be ashamed of the gospel “because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”  (Romans 1:16, NIV)

Saints, pray for strength to live the life of the redeemed, to boldly proclaim “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.   Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:3, NIV)
