Christ is Seeking to Save You – My Daily Bread!
Our call to praise our Savior is taken from Luke 19: 10 which read:
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
In this season of Christmas, it is only fitting that we remember the reason for the season! So for the rest of this week leading up to Christmas we will rejoice in scripture about our Savior and King! For what a blessing we have in Jesus! For those Christians who base their whole life on Christ, this is a time of celebration that is part of an ongoing life of praise to Our Savior! We praise Him for coming down and dying on Calvary that we might be saved!
The world has commercialized the celebration of Christ’s birth; making it a time of shopping sprees and intense focus on finding the right gifts to share; things that make us so unbeautiful when compared to Christ’s life mission – “to seek and save that which was lost.” Some miss the greatest gift – Christ Himself!
Jesus became bigger than life while He lived on earth and true to who He is, He is still bigger than all the life that each of us will live today even though some may never acknowledge it! Because He was born to change the world our lives are entangled in His destiny and each one of us will have a choice to make regarding Him. Christmas is a time for reflection on that choice as we assess the significance of that special Child King born in a manger under humble circumstances, but with incredible means.
There are two choices really and it’s not that complicated. You can see Him as the ultimate Gift from God, the Lamb of God born to take away our sins and follow Him or you can decide to discount His importance and go about living your life as you choose. Only a few people recognized who Jesus even was when He entered on the scene, and that is no difference for us today. A baby, small and seemingly insignificant, born in a barn; yet a child who held the future of the world in His hand! A Child who had the power to lift us into the very presence of God or to stumble us to the very depths of hell.
Paul spoke of Christ effect on humanity in Romans 9: 33 when he said: “As it is written: ‘See, I lay in Zion a stone that caused men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” Will you stumble my friend? Or will you believe? Christ is seeking you to Save and present you to the Lord! Rejoice those of you who believe for Christ now sits at the right hand of Our God and all men are blessed because of Him. Celebrate His birth with thanksgiving in your heart, for Jesus the seeker of men who were lost have been found, and it is marvelous indeed!
