The Rock of Our Salvation!

The Rock of Our Salvation – My Daily Bread!

Our courage to hope in God is taken from the words of our Savior Jesus found in Mark 12: 10-12 which reads:

“Have you not even read this scripture:“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.  This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”

Saints, it is truly marvelous what our Lord has done!  Jesus, the Cornerstone, who was “rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious” (1 Peter 2: 4) is not only the foundation of God’s Church, but also the basis of our salvation!

The cornerstone of a building is carefully chosen and important since all other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure.  This stone also has to be perfectly straight because it is critical to the stability and strength of the building due to its position – at the corner where two walls meet.  What a glorious picture of Christ, for He is our foundation, our strength and might, our intersection between God and His will in our life.  He sets us straight on the path that leads our hearts to God!

Peter also spoke of Jesus as the cornerstone and His pivotal role in our salvation when he said “nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  Rejoice, rejoice for our Savior is Risen and we, the living stones of Christ are saved unto Him, for He is indeed precious and this is marvelous in our eyes!
