Lest I Forget – My Daily Bread!
Our call goes out today to reflect on what it means to be humble and is taken from the example of our Savior who emptied himself for us on the cross. Philippians 2: 5-11 beckons us to listen with our hearts to one of the most expressive scriptures in the Word for it demonstrates love in action!
“Our attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ: who, being made in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Prayer: Father in heaven, I pray that you open my heart and fill me with the humility of Christ that I might be useful in your kingdom. Set aside all things that would make my heart proud so that I do not forget my place at your feet. Daily remind me of my hope in Christ and the price that He paid, lest I forget His love for me and the glory He received on Calvary. Amen.
