The Lord’s Blessings – My Daily Bread!
Be joyful Saints, for the bountiful blessing of the Lord! For His love is great and He is worthy to be praised! The call to praise today is from the Book of Psalms Chapter 103: 1-5; 8; 10-14, NIV:
“Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name! Praise the Lord O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in love. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust”.
Have you experienced the Lord’s abounding loving kindness in your life? Has He redeemed your life from the pit? The benefits mentioned in this passage remind us of how dear we are to the Lord, though we are mere dust; that He desires to treat us better than we deserve with many good things. What goodness of the Lord have you seen? The smile on the face of your son or daughter. The sun cresting on the horizon. A walk in the moonlight. The joy of another day lived! Tears at my mother’s grave as I rejoice in the hope of seeing her again in the resurrection?
Truly Father, your mercies are new each day! My heart cries out with thanksgiving to you for your undeserved kindness and love for me! Saints, take a moment to reflect on the Goodness of the Lord while you are here in the land of the living! For He is our shield and our very great reward! (Genesis 15:1, NIV)
Prayer: Thank you merciful God for your loving kindness, for you know that we are dust. Thank you for your compassions and forgiveness of our sins and the many good things you have stored up for us. Draw us close to you my Father and keep us in your perfect peace!
