The Living God!

The Living God – My Daily Bread!

Our call to rejoice in the sovereignty of Our God is taken from Psalm 99: 1-3, 5, NIV, which reads:

“The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; He sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.  Great is the Lord in Zion; He is exalted over all the nations.  Let them praise your great and awesome name – He is holy.  Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; He is Holy”.

Saints we have reason to rejoice for our God Lives!  He reigns as the Ruler of this world; all things are under His control!

Many today think that God is dead or do not even believe there ever was a God, or that He is not active in the affairs of men today.  Some believe that He created the earth and universe but then set men off on their own path and course to discover and become whatever suites them.   However this thinking is in direct contrast to what we are told in the Word.

Isaiah 44: 6-8, NIV, assures us:  “This is what the Lord says – Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord almighty: I am the First and I am the Last; apart from me there is no God.  Who then is like me?  Let him proclaim it.  Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come…..You are my witnesses.  Is there any God besides Me?  No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.”

Scripture also tells us that God is interested in the course of the lives of men as born out in Proverbs 20: 24, NIV, which says:  “Many are the plans of a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”.

So through the Spirit of God that made us, and through the breath of the Almighty which gave us life, let us be ever mindful that HE LIVES and controls the universe and all that is in it!   As His living witnesses –  He also lives in us and shows Himself to a watching world through those of us who believe!
