The Feast of All Saints!

The Feast of All Saints – My Daily Bread!

Our call to know the Word of God is taken from 2 Timothy 4: 16-17 and Hebrews 4: 12-13, NIV, which reads:

“All scripture is God -breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking and correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work……For the Word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

What a powerful expression regarding the power of God’s Word to get us trained for God’s active duty!    How marvelous, God inspired teaching from thousands of years ago that has not lost its power in our lives today!   All we need to please God is already included for our benefit, our God revealed in all His Holy majesty and splendor!  It is the only book that I can read over and over again and never get bored, but still find treasures of God’s truths that are for me just at that moment!

We are also instructed to “do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”  (2 timothy 2:15, NIV)  The Word of truth referred to here is the same ‘Word of truth ‘called the gospel of our salvation’ by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:12, NIV.

There are many wonderful study guides out today that do a great job in bring forth God’s Word, however Saints we must be cautious of just feasting on those materials to the exclusion of reading the Word for ourselves.   Remember that they are study aids, not the main course of the meal.  For in His Word is His standard for Godly living, the very treasure of Emanuel, ‘God with us’!   Seek to know ‘GOD With Us’ in His Word for yourself!  Enjoy, for it is truly the feast of all Saints!
