Blessed To The Fullest Measure!

Blessed To The Fullest Measure - My Daily Bread!

Our call to praise God is taken from the Twenty third Psalm verses 5-6, NIV, which reads:

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

These verses are excerpts from the ‘Lord is My Shepherd Prayer’ which most of us memorized as children.  These verses speak of God’s bountiful blessing that He desires to pour out on those who honor Him.  Not only is He our Shepherd and protector; but He is also our abundant Provider!

The table, oil and cup mentioned here is a beautiful imagery of God’s overflowing fullness in the life of His Saints!   In the olden days oil being poured on one’s head was a symbol of being blessed.  The table prepared brings to mind thoughts of a feast with many choice delicacies to delight one’s palate.  A cup that runs over suggests having more than enough to satisfy ones thirst.

How awesome for us that our merciful God considers us important enough to care for our every need in Christ Jesus.  So do not be surprised Saints of God if you are waiting on the Lord for something when He prepares that table before you and blesses you to the fullest measure of His goodness with choices that delight your soul, and perhaps even exceed your wildest expectation.  For out of the abundance of His pleasure His table will satisfy your heart and His goodness and mercy shall lift your soul to Heaven!  That is how good our God is!
