Sweet Fellowship in Christ – My Daily Bread!
Our call to savor the sweet bond of fellowship in Christ is taken from Philippians 1: 3-6 which reads:
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Saints it is a wonderful thing when the redeemed of the Lord gather to worship and praise His name! I attended a women’s bible study fellowship today at our Church and the most dynamic part of the day was the sharing of each other’s experiences, what God had laid on our hearts and how He was moving in each of our lives!. It was rich beyond measure and one could just feel the full measure of God’s Spirit among us! I saw my Sisters being “kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation and continuing steadfastly in prayer.” (Romans 12:10-12) It was indeed precious!
Paul’s words above stayed on my heart all day as I reflected on my dear Sisters, their praise, joy, encouragement, laughter, their struggles, tears and prayers. In our time together, we peered into the “perfect law” (James 1: 25) and were truly blessed! In the fellowship of the gospel is where we draw strength and are encouraged to continue to live a life that pleases God; one that honors the work that He is doing to make us complete. The testimonies and prayers of our dear sisters and brothers are precious gifts from God; for they are sweeter than the honeycomb and more valuable than silver and gold!
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the sweet fellowship of my Sisters in Christ. I thank you for placing us in each other care and pray that I honor you by my love and commitment to them as we journey toward you. I pray that you accept our joy and praise, hear our prayers and strengthen us according to your will. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
